Beguiling scents, sorted by fragrance
To the west of Singen, between Hilzingen and Binningen, Tuscan fragrances tempt passers-by to stay a while.
More than 500 different fragrant, herbal and medicinal plants grow in the 6.000m² scent and show garden of the Syringa herb nursery. Rarities like the chocolate scent plant, the gummi bear flower or the poppyseed-roll flower grow here alongside assorted varieties of, sage, mint, basil and thyme. Visitors are welcome to walk on the paths between the flower beds – and to follow their noses past the collections of lemon-fragrant plants, historical roses, through the miniature Provence, to the smelly plant corner.
If you wish to find out more about these rare species from all over the world, you can take part in an expert guided tour. The summer moonlight tours, when the plants exude the smells of evening, are particularly popular.
